Yesterday we saw a kestrel at the roller stand, but also something that we were not sure of. Was it a mistle thrush? We did not have any binoculars.
Today when I was counting the ponies and cattle, there was the kestrel and also a mistle thrush, but also yet another bird. A brown phase juvenile Cuckoo, complete with nice yellow legs and claws.
Was this the bird that Paul and a friend saw last week, and I advised from the description that it was a sparrow hawk? Probably.
I guess that it is about to depart.
