Birdcount .... 28th November 2013

My PDA was playing up and so you will find the details of the afternoon are all recorded as if at the tool store at the end of the day.  Oh, the vagaries of Batteries.

34 species.  Woodcock makes a welcome return.  Bramblings are clearly still around.  Wood Pigeon are presumably moving into the area from the continent with big flocks rather than the usual individuals

Counted the peacocks since they were not in Jilly's garden, but next door.  They must occasionally visit the reserve.  One wonders when they will be classed as feral.  Just for fun.

More Reed Buntings around.

Some of the smaller birds are now forming feeding parties, for instance 10 longtailed tits.  If you miss seeing the group we would not have recorded the species.  Similarly goldcrest.

Time for Jays not to be shy, and to find and store acorns.  6 birds is closer to the reserve population, perhaps.
