11th July 2017 ... weekly volunteers

Present:

John, Keith, Graham, Steve, Mike m, Mike p, Neil, Bernard, Ian, Pat, Jonathan, Alan, Bob and Martin

Activities:

- cutting bracken on the paths across the central fence to under the power lines
- pulling bracken up the m1 and near bench
- ragwort cleared from most of the reserve
- ragwort taken home to compost
- looked ponies and the 14 Sussex red cattle
- mended the bench
- cutting bracken on the bird count route through ol1 up to the field
- new tin put out, and others counted

Observations:

- cooler, than recently
- rain forecast did not appear
- Pat's birthday
- slow worms and lizards
- dodder in flower
- kestrel
- Gary and co treating the cattle for new forest eye
