27th June 2017 ... weekly volunteers

Present:

John, Alan, Keith, Bob, Mike m, Howard ( visiting brother in law), Bernard, Ray, Graham, Ian, Neil, and Martin

Activities:

- looked the ponies. A bit difficult to find
- bracken pulling along beeches avenue
- John mapped out areas for bracken spraying
- bracken pulling on south Heath
- check bank fencing on south Heath for sheep routes. Only one left is used by badger, and we decided to leave
- refurbishing the cattle coral. Reinstated a heave gate. Cleared bramble etc. Put up 3 new posts to support some rotten ones. Checked and oiled the crush mechanisms.
Still work to be done. There is an extra metal gate which we unhinged from a rotten and fallen post.

Observations:

- Did not hear ww
- woodlark
- ringlet along road
- kestrel or hobby. Mike may have seen latter recently
- possible tawny owl feather
- new stuff in shop, including suitable reptile tray
