23rd May 2017 ... weekly volunteers

Present:

John, Jonathan, Pat, Anda, Bernard, Graham, Steve, Mike m, Mike p, Ian, Keith, David a, Alan, Stuart and Martin

Activities:

- brought fence posts left by mark into the tractor shed
- marked some saplings for keeping on Heath near the car park. 34 of them

- did the nest box survey, first third. Emptying out boxes that are finished. Recorded the GPS coordinates of them
- took in some signage for the ponies from Kyle and Gary, as they delivered 5 koniks onto main reserve.
- clearing saplings from area around the crossroads
- brought the rest of the log Pile directly behind the shed into the shed
- put up four notices of the ponies presence
- told Jacob and Aurora about the ponies

Observations:

- redstarts, woodlarks, tree pipits, Bullfinch, cuckoo, blackcap, Willow warbler, chiffchaff, stonechat, great spotted woodpecker and nest
- 2 green Hairstreaks
- thrush, Robin, great tit, blue tit
- large toad disturbed when moving logs
- woodcock near Reynard's way, though on reflection this is more likely to be a nightjar.  Agreed
