20th June 2017 ... weekly volunteers

Present:

John, Neil, Mike m, Mike p, Ian, Stuart and Martin

Activities:

- too hot to do much
- did final walk of first bit of nest box survey
- Ian and Keith did a tin survey. Possible grass snake seen separately. Slow worms and lizards seen
- bracken pulling across the Heath under the power lines.
- celebrated Mike p 79 birthday
- surveyed for silver studded blue. None.
- checked some ponds for dragon flies
- looked the ponies
- spoke to Henry's son and Henry himself and strengthened the sh fence to stop their sheep coming into our land. Used two stakes.
- marked some pine for keeping on sh


Observations:

- scarce silver lines moth
- Azures,l reds, Bb chasers, keeled skimmers, common darters, emperors
- buzzard, yellowhammer
- lots of foxgloves near cess pit
- dodder
- s Heath, gatekeeper, meadow brown, l skippers, brimstone, peacock
- saw the Heath fragrant orchid again
