Tuesday, 10 April 2018 ... weekly volunteers


Description:Present: John, Jonathan, Keith, Mark, Ian, Mike m, Callum, Ben, Terry, Alan, Pat, Neil, Stuart and Martin Activities: - a bit more work on the road kerb, with more hard core and mud removed from in front of the shed - looked the ponies. Ribs starting to be visible, but still look fine. - cut down more birch in the quarry, with stacking brash, splitting logs, and stacking in an airy fashion. Used meat cleaver and bill hook with an adjustable spanner as a froe. - moved logs into the shed and moved a pile of logs at side of cottages wood onto log piles behind the shed - showed Callum and Ben the birch uniculture of ol2 Observations: - at least two redstarts singing - chiffchaffs, woodlarks, siskins, redpolls - possible whitethroat, Dartford, and willow warblers, but too brief - Keith left keys behind Martin
