Description:Present: Mark, Bob w, Keith, John, Jonathan, Pat, Paul, Mike m, Ian, Terry and Martin. Mike p paid a visit. Alex helped instead of Mark m-t from swt. Activities: - pat looked the ponies - Mike m fed the ponies and checked the fence line - Alex put out the electric fence tape as last defence should ponies get through central fence - took down the fencing at the car park, from the big gate down to the back corner of the cottage gardens - showed Chris Sutton, ranger, what we intended to do. - handed over letter from contractor to Alex, for Mark m-t - made two wood piles of fence posts, struts and strainers - loaded all old wire stock fencing, barb and wire into Alex's vehicle. Staples collected for future use. - cut a new path along the edge of the ditch from the kissing gate to the car park, thereby avoiding all the mud - Bob w cut some logs in the shed - Terry, Paul and Ian protected three hornbeam saplings near the existing 2 mature hornbeams with tubes and stakes. There are a lot of seeds there as well. Also liked by Haines apparently. Observations: - cold and rainy and damp. Not very nice. - people worked hard to complete the job essentially before lunchtime - French books handed over to mike p - loaded up some bags of logs for Mike p Martin
