Tuesday, 6 November 2018 ... weekly volunteers


Description:Present: Mike m, Mike p, Alan, Pat, Keith, Jonathan, Stuart, Terry, David w, David a, Bernard, John, Ray, Neil, Paul, Ian and Martin Activities: - looked the ponies and cattle - did general pond work on the two ponds below the bench. They seem much bigger now. They were quite full, even though it is not obvious where the source of water is - continued the work on the boundary fencing. Got up to the hunt gate. - did some ring barking in the swamp. Birch and pine, and by accident one alder. The later will just treat it as a coppicing incident I guess - moved some fence posts out on the Pippingford boundary ready for next week - mended a wheel Barrow, and oiled and inflated a tyre on another - Mike p did work on some of the drains on the track below the bench - investigated a couple of large slit trenches just of the main path near the bench, and considered what work might need to be done to make safe Observations: - all the wheel various were out working! - crossbills - sea gulls - ravens - weather pleasant and dry Martin
